That would make any man who wants to be seen as he is and not for what he's worth a reserved person. He was my favorite Darcy for years. Lately, though, I've been interested in exploring the human side of Darcy so I've been trying to work out the man behind the facade. For that reason, I've come to appreciate the vulnerable side of Darcy portrayed in P&P2005.Monica Fairviewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07859188231849000840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8954683999390981517.post-45224375051253633022016-08-19T04:26:08.100+02:002016-08-19T04:26:08.100+02:00Loved how the eyes on the pic blink and even seem ...Loved how the eyes on the pic blink and even seem to follow you. So many JAFF authors have him as simply shy. It's just not true according to Austen's portrayal. He is confident but arrogant. Just because he does not like to be in company does NOT mean he is shy. I myself prefer to spend time with close friends or alone, but I am not the least bit shy. Given that you agree with the confident but arrogant portrayal, I am surprised that you prefer Matthew Mcfadden's portrayal as his Darcy is clearly shy and uncomfortable. I love MM, but NOT as Darcy. To me, Firth captured Austen's Darcy to perfection. Still, very much looking forward to reading your next book as I've enjoyed your previous ones.Bonnie Wilson Carlsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05574356306947277397noreply@blogger.com
