Perhaps it's the readability or the freedom that today's authors have. I find that if a sequel is true to Jane's original characters, remains accurate to the time period, and has an interesting story then it is a success. Regina consistently remains faithful to all three. Even her "mashup" with Vampire Darcy artfully manages to stay true to character. Her books get better and better. Keep up the excellent work Regina. She definitely has a bit of the Gothic in her original pieces, not counting Northanger Abbey.<br />Monica, one of things I have enjoyed so much on Austen Authors is the various journeys we each made as we came to Jane Austen. <br />Meredith, I laughing tell my male students when they ask why we are studying Austen that "Some day you will be on Jeopardy and win everything in the final round because the question is on Jane Austen."
