Maria Grazia

Hello again to all you lovely readers at My Jane Austen Book Club! It’s a privilege to appear on this blog one more time, as I have done over the years since – I believe – 2009! Amazing when I think about it! At the time, Jane Austen sequels and variations were relatively new to publishing, though there were lots of forums where readers could have access to some excellent writing in the genre. Now it has become a large sub-genre with at least fifty books a month coming out. It’s an exciting time for all of us, because authors are exploring so many creative ways of writing about Elizabeth and Darcy, expanding the genre of Austenesque fiction into many different directions.

Which brings me to my visit today.  I’m dying to share the news of my new book with you. Last year – and the first month of this year – have been anxious, confusing, and heart-breaking times for many of us. When I started writing my latest novel, I desperately wanted to escape from our current reality through my writing.

The result is Dangerous Magic, set in the familiar world of Regency England (which is a fantasy world in itself!) but with a twist. Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy have their own sets of problems to overcome, of course, but they have magic at their fingertips, which is a pretty useful skill to have, I must admit. 😊 I really enjoyed keeping Jane Austen’s world completely intact, with all its rules of acceptable behavior unchanged, while at the same time weaving the element of magic into their daily lives.

So here it is, my latest creation. Maria has been kind enough to offer me a cover reveal today, and I will be visiting again next month when the book is published.

Dangerous Magic: A Pride & Prejudice Fantasy Variation will be available for pre-order starting next week and will be coming out on March 15th, so make sure to put that date on your calendar and stay tuned for my upcoming interview with Maria Grazia!

BOOK BLURB

A sparkling tale of Regency England, a forced marriage, and two mages who must work together to save the Kingdom.

Elizabeth Bennet is stunned when the Royal Mages come to her peaceful country home of Longbourn to take her away. She is even more bewildered when she is commanded to marry a powerful mage by the name of Fitzwilliam Darcy. She has always dreamed of marrying for love, and an arranged marriage with an arrogant stranger was never part of her plans.

But Darcy and Elizabeth have no choice in the matter. Uniting their two forms of magic is essential for the Kingdom to defeat Napoleon’s mages. Darcy and Elizabeth may dislike each other on sight, but they must overcome their differences and find common ground before it is too late. Fortunately, it is not long before the sparks begin to fly between them.

Join the author of ‘Fortune and Felicity’ in this enchanting story of determination, love, and hope against all odds.
