HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANE! BLOG TOUR AND GIVEAWAYS

My Happy Birthday Tribute
Here I am to give with my humble tribute to Jane Austen on her birthday. It’s  just a simple Happy B-day post to join the happiness which has spread all over the web to celebrate her.
Happy Birthday,  Jane!
My very  best wishes and  love to the Hampshire girl who stubbornly wanted to live on her pen and be free and independent.
Happy birthday to clever and strong-willed, Jane, the one her family so much loved and whose company they appreciated so much, the one who preferred writing to a married life , who dreamt of beautiful  love stories but never achieved  one of her own.
Of course, Happy Birthday to  the  widely loved  and celebrated writer, to the successful author  who defeated  Death with fame  and Time with her  wit. Her name is an extremely best selling brand nowadays. Who would imagine that while she was alive and in desperate search of a publisher?
I want to celebrate Jane’s birthday because I’m indebted to her for so many delightful unforgettable moments! The best  dashing heroes for my teenage daydreams and the most intelligent sensitive heroines to side with. I’m grateful for Lizzie, Catherine, Elinor and Marianne, Emma, Anne and even Fanny Price. Yes, even.  Huge thanks for Darcy, Henry Tilney, Mr Knightley, Frank Churchill, Willoughby, Edward ,Brandon and , especially for Captain Wentworth.Yes, especially for him!
I also owe  Jane Austen my being part of a huge,  active , sparlking international  web community which has become an enriching part of my life. I feel blessed and honoured because Janeites are such extraordinarily talented  people!
This blog is not yet one year old but has already  got many  friends . It started as a journal of my real life Jane Austen Book Club in January 2010 and has become my virtual Book Club where I meet Janeites and talk Jane Austen with them, where I host interesting contributes from Janeite bloggers and writers, or post my reviews of Austenesque readings and films, collect news and curiosities about Jane.

I owe all this to you. Thank you, Jane. A very happy birthday!

Now,  this  Happy Birthday Party has got lots of great Janeite friends waiting for you on their own blogs and sites. Just leave a comment here before going on with your  tour. Visit all the sites in the list below: every comment you’ll leave on any of the blogs will give you a chance to  win  one of the many gifts we have for this extraordinary multiple giveaway.

Jane's birthday is the third day in a run of special events for me every December. December 14th is the anniversary of my husband and I starting to date, December 15 is his birthday. So I get three days of celebrating two people who've taught me a great deal about love. :)

Thank you again, Maria, for organizing this fabulous event. It's late in the day when I'm finally getting the chance to read all the wonderful tributes, and I still need to find a quiet moment to give Jane Odiwe's story proper attention (can't wait to read it!). I love your heartfelt tribute, and only regret that I didn't have more time to give this occasion proper due. Happy birthday my dear Miss Austen - "the successful author who defeated Death with fame and Time with her wit." How well said!

I have saved the best for last also!

Thank you for your contribution to the best party I have been to in a long while!

A party which gives its guests so many gifts is a party which will never be forgotten!!

Now, for my news...

I had managed to stay single like Jane for almost 45 years...but Jane made sure that didnt happen... She sent me a Darcy & Wentworth together for the perfect gentleman and he loves me even more than those two combined loved our darling Regency girlfriends!

The bestest news? Our wedding day is set for December 16, 2011 in the Regency style. My choice? Of course but I cannot take the credit. My fiance saw to it that my ring, and our plans be done in this fashion for he has fallen in love with Austen all on his own!

Every night by Skype he reads several chapters from whatever Jane novel we are reading at the time. Does it get any better than that. I think not!!

God love you Jane... Since my twelfth birthday when my mother introduced me to Jane with a copy of P&P as my gift I have felt so profoundly close with our darling Jane...

Now, I have it all just as she promised in her novels..that they would all have happy endings!

Happy Birthday Jane in Heaven!!

Dear Maria,

Im a newcomer to all the blogs (the last year) and I am so grateful for all the hard work that has been put into this magnificent Birthday Blog Tour Party...

I must say that this last year following and reading all of the Austen blogs on the list has made my life so much richer and of course made me realize even more how great our Jane really was!

Thank you in particular for hosting this party and your effort is so very appreciated. You have made this Christmas merrier than all the others since I was a young girl...Really...

It is also the first Christmas together for my fiance and myself and so this day is agreat memory for both of us as he is a big Austen admirer as I stated in my post before.

God Love you Maria and I look forward to 2011 and all the posts you and your colleagues grace upon us!

Grazie mille,

Sofia
